Carla Approved Skincare

Hi everyone,

Last week I was talking with a few clients about the effect of skincare products on our health especially in regards to hormones.  So I thought I'd share a few brands that I've found and use that are both Carla Approved and do the job.  They might be a nice idea for a Christmas gift too!

When it comes to skincare we not only want to get rid of as many synthetic ingredients as possible, we actually want to feed our skin!  I've used Edible Beauty products for at least 5 years now and still love them.  The founder of Edible Beauty, Anna Mitsios is a naturopath and her initial reason for creating skincare was to have something that was safe for pregnant women to use.  So when it comes to hormones and skincare she has extensive knowledge and experience.  Here is a blog she wrote specifically about peri-menopause, menopause and skincare.

Now I don't wear a lot of make-up but I do use mascara most days and foundation if I'm going out and I like Ere Perez Natural Cosmetics for these products.

Sunscreen is a tricky one.  Most natural sunscreens I've tried are pretty greasy or the zinc leaves a whitish sheen to the skin.   I'm fine with this for the body but not the face so the best one I've found for the face so far is from EcoSonya and they usually stock it at The Organic Store McLaren Vale.

I'm still on the hunt for a tinted moisturiser with sunscreen that has a good texture and no nasty ingredients - I've tried multiple and none of them are quite right so I'd love your suggestions!

Happy feeding your skin!

Carla :)
